Mad About Monograms

The monogram is a staple of prep life. It can appear on anything from luggage to a phone case. Monograms were originally used as the signature of royalty, or put on coins in ancient times to identify who the ruler of a nation was. Later on, Victorian Aristocracy used them as a symbol of class distinction and wealth.

Today, both individuals and companies use monograms to identify themselves as being of a certain status. For those of you who are unfamiliar with monogram etiquette, the large last initial is typically in the center, while a smaller first initial is on the left, and the middle initial is on the right.
