Weekend Recap

Finally home from Florida! It was a quick trip, but very fun, and it was nice to see the family!

Our light packing certainly payed off, as we sailed through security with ease. We flew into West Palm Beach and unfortunately after being delayed, got to the hotel very late.

And of course our rental car would have a New York license plate (represent)!

Saturday, however, was gorgeous, and we caught up with family over lunch. We then headed to the pool to hang out as more family arrived.

After swimming, lounging, and burning (boy do I have some strange patterns on my body!), we headed upstairs to get ready for the wedding. And now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment I’ve been dying to share with you (or if you already know, what you’ve been dying to see)…

Make us go to a wedding in Florida at the end of June, and Dad WILL wear seersucker.

My little sis Julia wore a dress from TopShop with a heart cut out, and I wore this striped dress from Anne Taylor Loft with a BCBG Max Azria belt.

Here’s a close up of Dad’s double sided bow tie:

The ceremony was outdoors, and my cousin Thomas and his bride Stephanie stood under a lovely arbor decorated with lilies and palm fronds.

The cocktail hour was held out on the patio, and then we moved inside for dinner and dancing! The room had wonderful lighting, and lovely centerpieces with lilies and crystals lit from the inside. One unique touch to the reception was the bridal party letting go of lanterns! This originated in Thailand and signifies letting go of unhappiness. Think Disney’s Rapunzel!

The cake cutting was definitely my favorite part, as an epic cake battle ensued!

All in all it was a great wedding, with good food, music, and company! Many congratulations to the happy couple!

(Had to add this one! Love my cousins’ little girls watching the first dance, probably already planning their own weddings!)

Hope everyone’s weekends were as lovely and fun filled as mine!
