Weekend at the Met

This weekend we are heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to check out and “reflect” on the installation “Tomás Saraceno on the Roof: Cloud City”.

The installation, which is located in the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden is made up of giant many sided prisms covered in reflective and transparent materials. The individual pieces had to be lifted onto the roof of the Met with a crane!

There are also a bunch of other great exhibits that the Met has to offer, such as Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, which was the theme of the Met Gala this year.

See the work of Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada compared and contrasted in inspiring ways, and experience how the past influences the present and the future.

Since the Met is well known as being a host of high fashion, turn yourself into a work of art with an amazing outfit:

We fell in love with the pattern on this Miss Selfridge Skater Skirt, it’s girly and sophisticated! We paired it with a Topshop Lace Insert Blouse, that has a pretty tie front. Of course every outfit needs a bow! A J. Crew Jackie Cardigan is the perfect barrier against air conditioning, and adds another pop of color to the outfit. With all of the walking around, sensible shoes are a must! These Libby Edelman Ballet Flats are cute, and won’t hurt your feet. With bag checks and other rules, leave your tote at home. Instead, this Dooney & Bourke Toggle Crossbody will hold all of your necessities, and is perfect for traipsing around the city. We accessorized with an Anne Klein Bangle Watch; a lot of designers have been embracing the bangle trend. This outfit will transition amazingly from the museum to lunch or a shopping trip!
